Cleco

A Cleco fastener is a temporary fastener used to hold sheets of material together or to secure parts like stiffeners and frames before they are permanently joined. Commonly used in the manufacture and repair of aluminum-skinned aircraft, race cars, and general sheet metal fabrication, Clecos are inserted into pre-drilled holes in the workpieces. Once inserted, they expand on the far side of the materials, drawing and clamping them together to maintain alignment and prevent distortion. Cleco fasteners can be installed and removed easily, making them ideal for applications where access to the opposite side of the assembly is limited.
